2♦ - 5 or more diamonds denies 4+ clubs
- Major bid is semi-artificial and game force
- Should rebid clubs with long clubs or raise diamonds if responded was limit and not game force values
with the 4+ clubs you could usually find a 2♥ or 2♠ bid although 2=2=5=4 is a little tough, could get away with 3♣ as well
2♥ - is 1NT opener but the point range that isn't covered by 1NT opening based on vulnerability. So non-vul 1NT range 11-13 shows a 14-16 HCP 15-17 shows 11-14 HCP.
- 2♠ puppet to NT to right side the contract
- Puppet and system on over 2NT
- 2NT - slam interest, balanced, asks for 4 card minor
- 3♣ - Limit hand and 6+ clubs
- 3♦ - Limit hand and 5 diamonds would usually only do this if the 2h showed 11-14 HCP and worried about NT
- 3M - 6 clubs and 5 of the major game force
- 3NT - skip the puppet because your hand has something better to lead into
ALERT
2♠ - artificial, an undisclosed splinter for partner's minor, game force (not short in diamonds)
- 2NT Asks for shortness (responding low/hi)
- 3♣ is hearts
- 3♦ is spades
ALERT
2NT - Shows 4441 exactly with singleton club
3♣ - artificial 3 clubs, 5 diamonds and likely a 4-card major, game forcing
- 3♦ asks for major – bidding 3NT instead of a major shows 5-4 in the minors with top range
ALERT
3♦ - Very good diamond suit 6+ game forcing
3♥/♠ - 6 diamonds and 5 of the major
Responders Rebids
If opener follows up with any bid up to 2NT the responders rebids 3♣ are non-forcing shows invitational points (12-13 HCP) with long clubs any other bid is game force. If opener bids 2♦ and raised to 3♦ it is also invitational values only
